VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA — (MARKET WIRE) — 10/27/10 — Aura Minerals Inc. (“Aura Minerals” or the “Company”) (TSX: ORA) regretfully advises that an employee of Fagundes Construcao e Mineracao Ltda. (“Fagundes”), the mining contractor at the Company’s Sao Francisco mine, was fatally injured in a two vehicle accident on Monday afternoon on the municipal road between the mine and the town of Pontes e Lacerda in Mato Grosso, Brazil. Another Fagundes employee was severely hurt and several others sustained non-life threatening injuries. The Fagundes employees were traveling to work for their regular shift when their bus and a Company vehicle collided. The families of those injured and all relevant authorities have been contacted and an investigation into the accident has commenced.

Aura Minerals extends sincerest condolences to the families and co-workers of the victims.
