VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA–(Marketwire – Sept. 18, 2007) – Aura Minerals Inc. (“Company” or “Aura Minerals”) (TSX:ORA) is pleased to announce that Ms. Christina Cepeliauskas has joined Aura Minerals, effective September 17, 2007, as Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Cepeliauskas is a Certified General Accountant and a seasoned financial professional with considerable number of years of experience in the mining industry.

Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Cepeliauskas held the position of Chief Financial Officer of Yukon Zinc Corporation. Before that she was with Andean American Mining Company (“Andean”), as Controller for over nine years, during which Andean graduated from a mineral exploration company to a gold producing company.

Ms. Cepeliauskas will be replacing Mr. G. Ross McDonald. Aura Minerals would like to thank Mr. McDonald for his valuable contributions to the Company since 2006 and wish him all the best for the future.
